Due to regulatory measures, Bendiocarb is being withdrawn from the GB and Ireland markets.
Bendiocarb, the active ingredient in Ficam D, has been an essential product for pest professionals for over forty years. Due to new BPR registrations, keeping products such as Ficam D on the market has become very difficult.
Three years ago, the product label changed to reflect new application parameters and increased control measures for indoor & cavity use. This change was necessary to ensure the product remained available to the professional pest management sector while our regulatory teams tried to defend the product for the longer term.
During this period of assessment, we have tried to defend Bendiocarb. Unfortunately, on the balance of probability, the registration renewal was unlikely to meet the strict biocide requirements that would allow the product to remain on the market with its current use.
Ficam D will remain available until 31st January 2024. We anticipate that after this date, there will be a 180-day sell-out period for distribution and another 180-day use-up period for end users. This has yet to be confirmed.
As an alternative, K-Othrine Partix is approved for wasps outdoors in free-hanging nests and has shown good results if treated correctly. Always read the label and product information before use.
