Join Our Team as Technical Manager – South!
Are you a technical expert in pest control with a passion for training, compliance, and industry standards? The National Pest Technicians Association (NPTA) is looking for a Technical Manager (covering the south of the UK) to lead our training programs, provide expert guidance to members, and represent the NPTA at industry events and regulatory meetings. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape technical excellence in pest management, ensuring that industry professionals stay at the forefront of best practices, compliance, and innovation.
What We’re Offering
- Salary: upto £45,000 per year, plus car allowance.
- Annual Leave: 28 days, plus bank holidays, plus additional closure between Christmas and New Year.

- Work Arrangement: Remote role with travel to training courses and occasional visits to the office in Nottingham.

What You’ll Do
- Be the technical face of the NPTA, representing the association at industry events, regulatory meetings, and member engagements.
- Deliver engaging training sessions to NPTA members across the UK, ensuring content is clear, practical, and aligned with industry standards.
- Develop and update technical training materials, ensuring they remain relevant and reflect the latest industry regulations and best practices.
- Provide expert technical support, answering member queries and offering guidance on best practices, pest biology, and control methods.
- Audit accredited members to ensure they meet the required standards of NPTA membership, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
- Lead on accreditation processes, assisting members with compliance and professional development.
- Collaborate with industry stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and key partners to advance the professional standards of pest control.
- Monitor emerging trends and innovations in pest control, incorporating them into training and member guidance.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong knowledge of the pest control industry, including current practices, legislation, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with an aptitude for training.
- Proven experience in public health pest control.
- Ability to engage with members, stakeholders, and regulators to uphold professional standards.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to travel across the UK for training, audits, and industry events.
- Previous experience designing and delivering training programs.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with accredited training schemes or CPD systems.
- Experience in auditing or compliance monitoring.
- Knowledge of advanced pest control technologies or sustainability practices in pest management.
Location
All applicants must be UK Based. We are particularly seeking candidates based in the South of the UK to enhance our regional presence. Any applicants from outside the UK will not be considered.

Interview will consist of a presentation based on a pre selected topic (15 – 20 mins) followed by competency based questions. All candidates selected for interview will be provided with at least 7 days’ notice to prepare their presentation.
